For hiking, walking around a lot, or traveling (if you expect to be doing great walks or hikes), I can’t recommend anything but the MW977 from the New Balance line. These provide phenomenal support for your feet and with them, plantar fasciitis won’t stop you from doing what you love to do. Keep in mind that these are sort of like hiking boots, so if you want lighter wear, use running shoes. For a non-running, non hiking shoe, I personally own a pair of New Balance Men’s MW811 Walking shoes. While I won’t say these are the most “stylish” of sneakers, they get the job done. What they lack in looks, they make up in functionality and comfort. I use these for a day out at the mall or if I have to do a lot of walking and I don’t want to wear jeans.

I’m not a girl, but I have female friends who’ve had plantar fasciitis and swore by these running shoes. They’ve got a great reputation online — so I recommend these completely for women who are looking for very comfortable running shoes. New Balance doesn’t put money into celebrity endorsements or advertising, they put their money into research and development — and it really shows. These shoes have massively good ratings online and many many many women who have plantar fasciitis have told me they use these as their main shoe.
Hiking/Walking/Outdoors/Gardening Shoes for Plantar Faciitis: New Balance WW749 Outdoor shoe
I know women with plantar fasciitis seem to gravitate to ONLY the running shoe, since you can use it for most “leave the house” situations and still look pretty good. A bit of a disclaimer here. If you have plantar fasciitis, it’s a good idea to give your heel and arch as much padding and support as possible. That means you need to limit yourself to running shoe and walking shoe types. The casual sneaker doesn’t offer as much support as both. But well, it sometimes gets a bit boring wearing running shoes day in and day out. For the occasional break and to pump up your style ladies, I recommend the New Balance Womens WA800 Sneaker. They look great, are super light, and still provide a decent amount of support. I would say though, don’t make these your “to go” shoes but rather use them occasionally with a good pair of running shoes with more support.
